The fourth consecutive year of The Clean Water Partnership (CWP) Schools Program has begun!  In partnership with Prince George’s County Public Schools (PGCPS), the CWP is working to install and maintain stormwater devices on school grounds that are affected by improper stormwater runoff.  This past week, the CWP held pre-construction meetings at Beacon Heights, Carrollton, Columbia Park and Tayac Elementary Schools, notifying school officials that construction will safely commence onsite.  The schools will receive a variation of Best Management Practices to include sand filters and bio-retention devices that minimize the amount of runoff from the sites and prevent pollution from accumulating to the surface that could eventually wash-off into the nearby waterways.  Clinton Sewer Expert, Inc., a CWP Mentor Protégé Firm, is thrilled to be working on the schools program for the first time and joins a host of other firms that have been with the CWP since the commencement of the program in 2016.  With six additional pre-construction meetings scheduled for the upcoming week, the CWP is looking forward to a busy and impactful summer of improving stormwater conditions for schools across Prince George’s County.
