The Clean Water Partnership (CWP) is providing many opportunities for businesses and community organizations to play their part in improving the quality of stormwater in Prince George’s County. The Alternative Compliance Program (ACP), provides tax-exempt, faith-based or other 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations to qualify for a reduction of their Clean Water Act Fee by treating and reducing polluted stormwater runoff by allowing small retrofit projects on their properties. To align with the goals of the CWP, County based MBEs are included in the design, installation and the long-term maintenance of the devices. The ACP demonstrates a holistic approach to solving stormwater issues by connecting local business to major community stakeholders such as faith-based and non-profit organizations.
